Treat Thank You

This project actually is a 3d treat project. On the inside is a bag that holds some candy. The orange flower was cut out with the big shot using pattern paper. To get the aged look, you would just sand the flower a little using your sanding block. The colours used here are baja breeze, old olive, and tangerine. Finished project off with a chocolate clip corduroy button.

Trying window sheets

This was my first try with the window sheets from the mini cattie. The window sheets are clear sheets of plastic that can be used in many ways. Here I embossed the butterflies on the sheet in white. I then placed the sheet over top of my Walk in the Park DSP. I base card is kiwi kiss and so is the ribbon.

Just Beachy

This is a stamp I used from the Just Beachy stamp set. It reminded me of my brother and the Beach Boys so I decided to make a brother card with it. I card stock is black, basis gray, white and kiwi kiss. I coloured the image with summer sun and kiwi kiss ink. The relax image was using the faux metal technique.

Thanks for looking.

A Note of Thanks

I just wanted to pass on a big "THANK YOU" to Kasia, a fellow SU demo in Salt Lake City. I have been trying to get the SU catalogue links on my blog for a few weeks now and have been unsuccessful because I am not the best when it comes to computers. So anyway I found Kasia's blog and Kasia had the catalogue links. I emailed Kasia last night to see if she would mind helping me out and advising me how to do the links and as you can see on my blog.....Kasia helped me out. Please visit Kasia's blog. She has some great stamping stuff to see.

Ribbon container find

I was at Wal-mart the other day and I was looking for a jar type container to store some ribbon in. I wanted to be able to see through the containers. So needless to say, I couldn't find what I wanted but I refused to go home empty handed. I was walking through an isle that had kitchen stuff in it and I saw these containers. They are tin with a see through top that comes off. The best part is that the bottom is magnetic. Now with me being someone who takes all my stamping stuff out and leaves it all over my desk, then I can't find anything.......these containers work great for me. My shelving is metal so the tins stick right to the shelves. Very cool! In each container, I put my smaller pieces of ribbons that I didn't want to throw away but didn't really have a place to put them either. Each tin was for a different colour . Each tin was $4.27 . They had smaller ones too.

Happy Mother's Day

This is a scrapbooking page that we will be making at our next class but for those of you that will not be there, I wanted to share it. It's my dedication to my beautiful, loving, wonderful Mom. The colours on my page are Cameo Coral, kiwi kiss, pretty in pink and pink pirouette. The flowers were cut out using my sizzix big shot. I used choc chip ink and stamped along the side of the page with a stamp from Doodle This. I also used the eyelet punch along the edge of the kiwi paper. I thought black and white photos looked best to co-ordinate everything.
Have a great Mother's Day weekend.

Flower Power

I have found myself dippin into the pretties kit again. I think every card I have made within the last week has had something from that kit used. Here I had used the large flower that I sponged on some pink pirouette ink. The centre of the flower I used clear micro beads and crystal effects. I let that dry for a bit and then decided to put a ring around the clear beads (with more crystal effects) and then used the pink beads . Both colour of beads are the pink duo beads . The paper I used here is so saffron and then the pattern paper is Tea Party DSP. I have been trying out the new eyelet border punch. When I do send this card, I would stamp a greeting on it then. All products are Stampin Up

Don't look Mom

This is the mother's day card I made for my Mom this year. I had made the butterfly a couple of weeks ago because I wanted to try the hatpins for the pretties kit. When the butterfly was done. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it and then all of a sudden, yesterday, it popped into my head that I would use it to make my Mom a card.. the butterfly was embossed using the bigshot texture templates. Then I used my butterfly die cut .Silver paper was used. With the hatpin, I used crystal effects and glued it directly to the butterfly. The base of the card is basic grey and the pattern paper is Walk in the Park. White satin ribbon was used to finish off the look. Now Mom, if you see this first, act surprised when you get the card in the mail.

It Didn't Start Out As This

Have you ever started making a card and the idea you start out with ends up being a completely different project. This is what happened here!. I started out with tempting turquoise paper and white ribbon and ended up with a green and yellow card. My inspiration was the DSP Flock Together. The designed paper used here is actually from that pack. The flower in the middle was a die cut for my big shot. I just bent the flowers a bit to make them 3D. Main colours used here are certainly celery, saffron and garden green. In the end, I thought the card turned out quite cute. This is a square card that is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4
